Hilltown hires new police officer

A new officer will be working to keep Hilltown residents safe.
Kevin Godfrey, 33, was sworn in as the Hilltown Township Police Department’s newest officer at the township’s board of supervisors meeting on Sept. 27.
Police Chief Christopher Engelhart said that, after a rigorous search, the department believes Godfrey is the perfect fit for the local force.
“We’re very pleased he is joining our ranks,” said Engelhart. “He stood out to us through the selection process. I believe his personality and communication skills will be critical in enabling him to interact positively with the public. He will be an excellent addition.”

Godfrey is a 2020 graduate of the Delaware County Community College Municipal Police Academy, according to Engelhart.
A Montgomery County resident, Godfrey joins Hilltown from the private sector. He previously worked as an insurance adjuster for Geico.
With the addition of Godfrey, Hilltown Police now have 17 sworn officers.
