'Hell or High Seas' film about PTSD produced by Philly company releases in local theaters

Posted

A Philadelphia production company is releasing a film in theaters and online. “Hell or High Seas” is a true story about a former Navy Rescue Swimmer's journey to sail around Cape Horn in an effort to bring awareness to veterans’ suffering from PTSD.

As America's longest war comes to an end, many veterans are transitioning back to civilian life, and the struggles with PTSD are sure to continue for the foreseeable future. While education and awareness are extremely important, the movie also looks at potential solutions. Adventure therapy is highlighted as a strategy for overcoming PTSD and can potentially be used as a mechanism to work through it.

Area theater showings include County Theater in Doylestown, at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 6: https://www.countytheater.org/films/hell-or-high-seas and Ambler Theater in Ambler, at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 13: https://www.amblertheater.org/films/hell-or-high-seas
