Every year during the month of February, Salem Church on East Court Street collects food and personal items for those who suffer from food scarcity and deprivation who live in Bucks County. The Bucks County Opportunity Council then distributes these items where they are needed the most.
It is imperative that we help those who don’t have enough to eat or don’t have feminine hygiene or baby products to make it through the day. Beth Mann, Social Action Network Chair at Salem Church, said.
Pink boxes with the Have a Heart poster on the front are located around Doylestown at local shops and at the church. Participating stores are Impact Hair Designs, Villa Capri, School of Rock, Rutherfords’ Camera Shop, Allora Gifts and Home Decor, Monkey’s Uncle, Dtown Tech, Evolution Candy, Siren Records, Busy Bee Toys, and McCaffrey’s Food Market.
