Hartsville Fire Company pays tribute to 9/11 first responders

Posted

Hartsville Fire Company, Station 93, held its 9/11 Flag Memorial on Sept. 11.

The memorial consisted of a display of 403 American Flags on the front lawn of the fire station.

The flags represented the 343 New York City firefighters, 37 New York Port Authority officers and the 23 New York Police Department officers who died while saving others on that fateful day. Two additional flags represented volunteer firefighters, John Kulick and Tristan Smith, who were killed in action in Iraq.
