Hailey Brinnel returns to Newtown Theatre for album release concert

Posted

The historic Newtown Theatre will welcome back jazz vocalist and trombonist Hailey Brinnel at 8 p.m. Friday, March 17.

Brinnel releases her latest album, “Beautiful Tomorrow,” the same day as the concert, making this the first public performance of her new material. She will be joined by her quartet and guest trumpeter Kellin Hanas from New York City.

Brinnel is no stranger to the Newtown Theatre. She kicked off the theater’s jazz series in early 2022 with a concert that earned her a standing ovation. She was also part of the theater’s “Very Jazzy Christmas Concert” in December.

Just 27 years old, Brinnel has already performed at acclaimed venues in America and Europe. She was a finalist in the 2021 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition and was recently named a finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest (jazz category) for her new composition, “The Sound.”

Brinnel’s debut album, “I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles,” peaked at No. 13 on Amazon’s “Jazz New Release” chart, and No. 44 on the website’s “Jazz Best-Seller” chart. Her music is firmly rooted in jazz tradition, arranged such that the energy is preserved but new life is breathed into it.

Tickets are available at TheNewtownTheatre.com for $25 per person or $20 for theater members. Any remaining tickets will be sold for $35 at the door on the night of the show (if available). All seating is general admission.

Beer, wine, and canned cocktails will be available for purchase at the theater. The theater is located at 120 N. State St. in Newtown Borough.
