Habitat for Humanity celebrates dedication of 122nd home

Posted

On June 17, Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County staff, board members, key community stakeholders, and homebuyer Sun will gather in Bristol to celebrate the dedication of Habitat Bucks’ 122nd home. The community is encouraged to watch the dedication at 4 p.m. on Facebook Live at HabitatBucksCounty.
Homebuyer Sun and her five children moved from apartment to apartment, sometimes splitting up in order for each to have room to sleep. It was during her search for an escape from that lifestyle that she came across the Habitat homeownership opportunity.
“Three years later, here we are now, steps away from moving into our home! I have always told my kids to move forward, no matter what lies ahead,” Sun said. “Thank you Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County for creating our pathway to truly ‘Move Forward.’”

Habitat homes offer families a path toward stability and independence. Lead sponsors of this home, who also recognize and support Habitat’s mission, include Dow, PECO and Wells Fargo. Bucks County also designated HOME funds to support the home’s construction.
“We are committed to playing an active role in helping to strengthen and support the communities where we live and work. Through our longstanding partnership with Habitat, and the meaningful work they undertake, we are able to be a part of ensuring that our neighbors have the ability to thrive and be at their best.” said Justin Land, program officer of global citizenship at Dow.
Additionally, more than 65 volunteers worked over 945 hours to complete this home.
