Guitarists Tim Farrell and Craig Thatcher set to perform at Sellersville Theater

Posted

The Sellersville Theater and Echoes present a special concert featuring well-known guitarists Tim Farrell and Craig Thatcher at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the theater, at 24 W. Temple Ave., Sellersville.

Each artist will perform a solo set and then they will collaborate for an evening of acoustic guitar music.

Farrell is an internationally known musician, composer, recording artist, performer and educator. He is one of only four artists to be honored as one of the 100 Greatest Acoustic Guitarists who have also won Best Instrumental in the International Acoustic Music Awards.

His fingerstyle playing and original compositions display “an elegant simplicity” that celebrates the purity of the acoustic guitar.

Farrell is known as a rare kind of musician, with the ability to both entertain an audience and inspire future generations of players. He has shared the stage with many notable musicians such as George Benson, Les Paul, Rick Wakeman, Jake Shimabukuru, John Sebastian, Jean Luc Ponty, Derek Trucks and many more.

Farrell’s music is enjoyed worldwide in concert, on radio, TV, films, streaming services, CDs, inflight audio, and more.

Thatcher is a band leader (The Craig Thatcher Band), an International Clinician/Ambassador for C.F. Martin & Co. of Nazareth, a guitar instructor and a recording artist.

After he heard Eric Clapton and then Jimi Hendrix, he focused on a rock style of lead guitar, based in the blues. Thatcher also has become a strong solo acoustic guitarist, focusing primarily on fingerstyle country blues. He has performed in one capacity or another in nearly every U.S. state as well as over 35 different countries.

Thatcher has worked with and/or opened for many great artists, including: Simone, Buddy Guy, Derek Trucks, John Mayall, Jimmie Vaughan, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Vanilla Fudge, Charlie Musselwhite, Dicky Betts, Savoy Brown, Jorma Kaukonen, Roseanne Cash, Herman’s Hermits, David Bromberg, Steve Miller, Bill Kirchen, GE Smith and many other international artists.
