Guitarist Beppe Gambetta returns to Prallsville Mills

Posted

For the ninth consecutive winter, Italian guitarist and singer Beppe Gambetta will create two concerts of international musical collaboration at the Prallsville Mills in Stockton, N.J.

Each year, Gambetta, who has found a second home in Stockton, invites one or two musicians he has met along the road to join him for these special performances. This year, his guests will be North Carolina blues guitarist Jon Shain and bassist FJ Ventre for shows at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11 and 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12.

Together, the three master musicians will explore traditional and original music drawn from their deep affection and appreciation for American and Italian roots.

Shain is the winner of the 2019 International Blues Challenge and Gambetta’s honors include being named “one of the best flatpickers anywhere” by The Huffington Post. He is also “an extremely funny, interesting and charming performer.”

The concerts take place inside the historic Prallsville Mills, 33 Risler St. (Route 29). Tickets are $35 each at prallsvillemills.org/events.

The concerts are presented by Music You Can’t Hear On The Radio and benefit the nonprofit Delaware River Mill Society.
