Grand View Health CEO to retire

Posted

After 39 years at Grand View Health, including the last nine as president and chief executive officer, Jean Keeler recently announced her retirement.
Her last day at Grand View Health will be Sept. 30.
Keeler became the health system’s president and CEO in December 2012 after previously serving as general counsel for three years and vice president/general counsel since 1996. Under her leadership, the former Grand View Hospital experienced an unprecedented era of growth, culminating with the current five-year, $210 million investment in state-of-the-art facilities.
The project includes a 190,000-square-foot, six-story expansion of Grand View Hospital, scheduled for completion in summer 2023. Keeler’s legacy also includes the soon-to-open Dublin Outpatient Center, the recent relocation of the Pennsburg Outpatient Center and Grand View Medical Company to newer, more convenient facilities, and the construction of the Grand View Health Center for Orthopaedics & Neurosurgery in Colmar.

Keeler also led the charge to create an accredited Level II Adult Trauma Center at Grand View Health. She formed strategic alliances with Penn Medicine to develop joint clinical care programs in orthopaedics, cancer and trauma to improve health care for local people. And she played a leading role in bringing the latest technology to Grand View Health, including state-of-the-art robotic-assisted surgery systems.
Douglas Hughes will serve as interim CEO. Hughes has served as Grand View Health’s senior vice president and chief strategy officer since May 2018.
The Grand View Health Foundation and the Grand View Health board of trustees will begin a search process to identify a new president and CEO.
