Front page story fails Herald’s mission

Posted

The opinion piece, ‘Priest wants to “change hearts“ about abortion’ (July 14), is not a news item and does not belong on the front page, let alone above the fold. There has been plenty of factual and appropriate anti-abortion news to cover (e.g., recent Roe overturn): To add a priest’s biased opining views on the front page is failing the Herald’s presumptive mission to be as unbiased as possible in presenting news of the area.

The editors reasonably have opinions, your implicit contract with the community is to kindly keep them to the Opinion and Editorial pages.

William Holmes, Carversville
