Posted

Friends of Music present an evening of eclectic choral music performed by The Hofstra University Chamber Choir at Trinity Episcopal Church, 6587 Upper York Road, in Solebury Township, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 23.

The concert is part of the choir’s Northeast American Tour. Conducted by American Prize winner Dr. David Fryling, the ensemble specializes in “the distinct art” of unaccompanied ensemble singing, and prides itself on a mastery of a widely diverse repertoire dating from the Renaissance to the 21st century.

The choir has been invited to present concerts in venues throughout the Northeast, including Carnegie Hall, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in Manhattan, the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City, N.Y., and the historic Christ Church, Oyster Bay, N.Y.

In addition, the choir actively engages high school and community choral programs in shared concerts, workshops and masterclasses.

Repertoire at this concert will feature composers including Eric Whitacre, Pablo Casals, Eric Barnum, Samuel Barber, Ralph Vaughan Williams, John Rutter, Moses Hogan, Norman Luboff and William Dawson.

Admission is $15 for adults, and free for those under 18. Tickets are available at the door. A reception will follow.
