Friends of Hunterdon Library sets book sale; seeks donations, volunteers

Friends of the Hunterdon County Library (FOHCL) is gearing up for its 23rd annual book sale, set to run from April 27 to 29.

Donation especially wanted are: hardcover and paperback books, children’s books, DVDs, video games, music/audiobook CDs and sheet music. Place them in boxes if possible.

The Friends are not able to use: anything on cassette, former library books, LPs/Vinyl records, encyclopedias, pre-2012 computer and business books, textbooks, Reader’s Digest condensed books, magazines of any type and anything in mildewed, water-damaged, or beat-up condition.

Book drives are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13 and April 20, at the Grange Building in the South County Park Fairgrounds on Route 179, Lambertville, N.J.

In between, donations may be left at the Friends headquarters library on Route 12, North County Branch Library in Clinton, or the South Branch County Library in Lambertville during normal library hours, in special areas set aside for donations; check hclibrary.us/friends/booksale.htm for details.

The sale runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 27, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 28. On Monday, April 29, there will be a $5-a-bag sale. For details and updates, check out hclibrary.us/friends/booksale.htm.

Volunteers are needed to help collect books on the two collection Saturdays and also to help sort books in advance of the sale.
