The Alliance Française de Doylestown presents its 2019 French essay competition for area high school students.
The 2019 essay topic is “Un personnage (ou une personne) français que j’aimerais connaître” (A French character or person I would like to meet).
The essay competition is open to all Bucks County public, private and home schooled high school students currently studying fourth-year or AP level French. Essays must be written in French and should be a minimum of 1,000 and a maximum of 1,500 words in length. Essays will be judged on creativity, originality of thought and grammar.
A $1,000 cash prize will be awarded to the first-place winner. The second-place winner will receive $500.
An honorable mention book prize will also be awarded. Additional recognition will be provided by the Fédération des Alliances Françaises and by the French consulate.

The deadline for applications and essay submissions is April 1. Winners will be announced by May 1.
