Foundations Community Partnership’s (FCP) board of directors voted to create the new Ron Bernstein Outstanding Service Scholarship, an annual award of $2,500 that will be presented to an FCP Summer Youth Corps intern at the annual Partnership in Youth Services luncheon.
The scholarship will be awarded each year to an intern who demonstrates the generosity of spirit in service to the community embodied by FCP’s founder, Ron Bernstein, who is retiring this year.
Under Bernstein’s leadership, FCP developed innovative services to improve the lives of young people and their families and has awarded over $5.5 million in grant funding to Bucks County nonprofit organizations.
“Ron has led FCP in supporting underserved youth in Bucks County through crucial funding, scholarships, internships, and continuing education programming for the past 13 years,” said Tom Hanna, chair, FCP board of directors. “This scholarship will carry on Ron’s legacy of service by supporting outstanding college students who are making a difference in the community.”
“It has been extremely rewarding to serve Bucks County during my tenure at Foundations Community Partnership,” said Bernstein. “The programs we’ve instituted are helping students, families, behavioral health professionals and non-profit organizations work towards positive change in Bucks County. Our new executive director, Tobi Bruhn, will guide FCP in the coming years with more remarkable programs, funding, and collaborative partnerships.”
The first Ron Bernstein Outstanding Service Scholarship will be offered following Summer Youth Corps 2021.
