Folk singer presents “Enchanting Appalachia” at New Hope-Solebury library

Folk singer, songwriter, radio host and educator Mary Roth will perform her music program, “Enchanting Appalachia,” at the Free Library of New Hope, 93 W. Ferry St., New Hope, at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4.

Roth will sing “Wayfaring Stranger” “Cluck Old Hen” and others with her Celtic Bouzuki and Appalachian Mountain Dulcimer, taking a music journey of the rich culture and history of Appalachia and its people followed by a lecture with discussion sharing.

Roth performs music from a wide and broad spectrum. Past venues have ranged from large festivals to intimate cafes. Her original songs have been aired on radio stations spanning several states.

She has taught the noncredit course, “How to Play the Appalachian Mountain Dulcimer,” for several semesters at Montgomery County Community College. She also hosts a radio show, “Artists with a Purpose.”
