Flemington’s “Queen for a Night” raises nearly $1,800

“Queen for a Night,” an annual celebration of small business, shopping and community drew hundreds of visitors and residents to Historic Flemington on June 30.

The event is one of several Thursday Nights Out on Main Street scheduled to take place in the coming months.

Queen for a Night, hosted by Attachments & Sage Boutique in downtown Flemington, N.J., featured local businesses and a chance to meet and learn about Flemington’s retailers, win prizes, enjoy live music, and enter to win the Queen’s Grand Prize of a gift basket valued at more than $3,000, with a gift from each participating business.

The event was free to attend, although a $25 donation was suggested to enter to win the crown. The event raised nearly $1,800, which will be donated to UNICEF Ukraine to aid those affected by the ongoing crisis.

“We were thrilled to bring back Queen for a Night to Main Street – and to see such a tremendous turnout,” said Robin Lapidus, executive director of the Flemington Community Partnership (FCP)/BID. “We appreciate the show of community support for our local businesses.”

Thursday Night Out on Main events take place on the last Thursday of each month on Main Street in Flemington and feature music, food and shopping. Upcoming Thursday Night Out events are scheduled for July 21, Aug. 25, Sept. 22, and Oct. 27.
