Flemington DIY set to reopen

Posted

Flemington DIY, community arts organization, is opening its doors after two years at a new space Saturday, May 14, in the heart of the Arts & Cultural District on Stangl Road.

The day will kick off with a soon-to-be monthly Makers Market at 10 a.m., an eclectic artisan market highlighting local creators, designers, collectors, and curators. The market will be open in tandem with Stangl’s popular weekly Farmer’s Market.

The day will also consist of an official ribbon cutting, sidewalk food pantry dedication and painting, planting a garden, screenprinting, yoga and meditation, and more throughout the day.

The celebration will conclude with a live show featuring music from Julia Blair, on tour from Wisconsin, supported by local acts Those Looks, Lightheaded and Crystal Violet.

“After an uncertain two years, Flemington DIY lives on - bigger, better, and stronger than ever,” says Jeff Hersch, co-founder and executive director. “This reopening is a surreal moment and I’m so proud of all the hard work our board and volunteers have put in – plus the support of our donors and members – to make this day a reality!”

Flemington DIY is located at 26 Stangl Road, the former site of N’Joy Yourself. For opportunities on how to get involved, visit flemingtondiy.org.
