Flemington DIY celebrates with “Gay and Saying It,” Makers Market

Posted

In response to the continued oppression and silencing of queer people, local photographer Christianne Ebel and Flemington DIY are hosting an art happening – Gay and Saying It! – from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 11.

The event consists of a pop-up art show, incorporating portraits taken on-site of queer people and allies alike, dialoguing prompts, and a recording booth where queer people have a dedicated place to tell their stories.

RSVP is not required, but strongly recommended. All ages are welcome. Learn more at flemingtondiy.org/GAY.

The day begins at 10 a.m. with DIY’s new monthly Makers Market, this one showcasing LGBTQ+ vendors outside under the tent on the Lawn on Stangl. The market runs until 3 p.m.

The day concludes with Love Flemington’s Pride Dance Party, from 5 to 8 p.m., featuring a DJ, dancing, treats, games, giveaways, and a beer garden.

Flemington DIY is located at 26 Stangl Road in the newly-minted Arts and Cultural District.
