Once again Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick has disappointed voters. He voted against legislation what would have, among other things done the following:
- Put a $2,000 annual cap on prescription costs for seniors on Medicare
- Allowed Medicare to negotiate on drug prices to help reduce Medicare costs. It should be noted that every private insurance carrier is “allowed” to negotiate with drug companies. For years Medicare has not been allowed to negotiate. This has always been very curious to me and this vital legislation finally corrects this issue.
Not a single Republican voted for this very important legislation. So much for Rep. Fitzpatrick’s claim to be “bipartisan.” He voted against the people in favor of big drug companies because that was the Republican party line.
The measures passed.
