Posted

Roxey Ballet, Lambertville, N.J.’s professional dance company, presents its annual American Holiday Classic and new Made for Television “Nutcracker” 2020.

The annual holiday event has become a favorite tradition of area residents and visitors alike and is now available for streaming to view from any device Thanksgiving Day through New Years Day at 10 a.m. and 2 and 7 p.m. daily.

The new Made for Television filmed “Nutcracker” production, directed by Mark Roxey, co-founder of the professional company, features over 200 handmade costumes designed by Alicia Worden and Ana Vichnevetsky, including new personalized costume masks for each role, with production and lighting designs by Jeffrey Goldstein.

Complemented by an international cast of professional performers from around the world, Roxey Ballet also draws on the abundant local talent pool from neighboring communities, including Lambertville, New Hope, Doylestown, Newtown, Stockton, Hopewell, Lawrenceville, Pennington, Ewing, and Princeton.

During the new made for television streaming production, Clara and her friends will take viewers on an enchanting voyage to meet magical mice, giant rats, marching soldiers, swirling snowflakes, waltzing flowers, and the beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy.

Subscribers to the new Nutcracker Channel also receive live-streamed rehearsals, cast and crew interviews, The Sugar Plum Fairy Adventure Series, a Senior Living Dance Class, and an additional production of “The Year of the Women Choreography Lab,” featuring five New Jersey-based choreographers creating socially conscious works showcasing women’s issues: disability rights, women’s health initiatives, bullying, and the cultural condition.

The channel offers “the perfect introduction to dance for people of all ages.”
