Erwin-Stover House hosts May Day celebration

Posted

The Erwin-Stover House, located in Tinicum Park in Erwinna, hosted its seasonal opening event May 1.

The May Day Celebration featured English folk dancing by the Millstone River Morris Dancers, a community May Pole Dance and Colonial games (rolling hoops and tossing graces), and reenactors. The event also acknowledged the Lenape People and honored the Lenape Sachem, Tamanend, just as the American Colonists did in the 18th century when they declared May 1 as St. Tammany Day.
