Easton Farmers’ Market to celebrate Honey Bee Day

Posted

Easton Farmers’ Market, located at Scott Park along Larry Holmes Drive, will celebrate Honey Bee Day on June 25.

Guests can learn all about the amazing honeybee – a vital player in the food system during National Pollinators’ Week. Funny Farms Apiaries will discuss “Beekeeping Basics” at 10 a.m. on the Scott Park Stage.

Visitors can also enjoy a honey tasting and check out a demo hive, plus enter to win EFM prizes at the Info Tent. Market vendors will have lots of honey treats and kids and pups can dress in their bumblebee finest.

Families can also take part in a Honey Bee Tea Party & Storytime ($5 per child) that starts at 10:30 a.m. Colin O’Leary will perform on the Scott Park Stage from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sigal Museum will instruct visitors on making hand-rolled beeswax candles.

To learn more about beekeeping, sign up for Easton Garden Works Beekeeping 101 workshop, and head there after the market. The free workshop will be held 1-2:30 p.m. June 25 at Lower Hackett Garden. Space is limited. To register, email gardens@eastonpartnership.org.
