In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day on April 22, the Bucks County Herald will present Environmental Hero Awards to area residents and professionals who are making a positive impact on the environment.
There are 15 award categories including lifetime achievement, advocacy, land conservation, water protection, business leadership, architecture, recycling, the arts, and historic preservation.
Three of the awards are designated for youth recipients.
“We are excited to honor our neighbors who are helping to preserve our beautiful natural resources and make our communities greener,” said Joe Wingert, Herald publisher. “We encourage members of our community to nominate friends, neighbors and colleagues who are going the extra mile to help protect our environment today and for future generations.”
Environmental Hero Award recipients will be selected by a panel of environmental leaders and Her-ald staff. Honorees will be recognized at a ceremony co-hosted by Heritage Conservancy at Aldie Mansion in Doylestown, on April 29, and in a special environmental publication of the Bucks County Herald, on April 30.
The deadline for nominations is April 13. For more information and to make a nomination, visit buckscountyherald.com/hero.html
