Eagle Scout trio recognized

Posted

Three Eagle Scout recipients from Troop 52 Campers were celebrated during a Court Of Honor Ceremony May 7 at Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company.

For his Eagle Scout project, Tyler James Laskowski spearheaded efforts to improve and repair the Horsham Friends School Nature Trail.

The bridge at the bottom of the nature path that was in need of repair was completely rebuilt and repairs of another bridge not to far from this one that needed some redecking were also made. Volunteers cleared about 150 feet of overgrown sticker bushes and weeds that blocked the proper drainage of a drainage ditch that ran parallel to the nature path. The blockages were flooding the nature trails making it unusable most of the late winter thru spring.

Aiden John Muench’s Eagle Scout project took place at the Farmette Sanctuary, Pipersville.

It included digging out one of the farm’s old broken waterers with a rented backhoe and replacing it with a new geo-star waterer. Other tasks included digging a 4-foot hole to place a wooden beam for the farm’s bell, and sanding and painting the donkey’s old feeding trough. Lastly, volunteers replaced the barns stall mats so it would not turn into a muddy swamp in the rain and cleaned the horse’s waterer by removing the old mucky water and replacing it.

Jackson Dean Thomas’ project took place at College Settlement Camp, Horsham

His project included designing and building an equipment stand and also designing and erecting a billboard for seasonal information to be posted regarding what is happening in the adjacent habitat.

Troop 53 Campers, Doylestown, is affiliated with Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Doylestown.
