Doylestown Township requests items for time capsule

Posted

Doylestown is putting together a time capsule that will be buried on the grounds of the new township building, 425 Wells Road, on Dec. 18, the board of supervisors announced during their meeting Sept. 18.

The time capsule will be buried to mark the 300th anniversary of the township.

Residents are being encouraged to submit items to be included in the time capsule, which will be opened in the year 2118, in time for the township’s birthday.

Items will be collected from now until Oct. 15 and can be dropped off at the Township Offices 425 Wells Road. Visit the townships website: doylestownpa.org for a list of acceptable and unacceptable items.

“We just want to keep the memories alive of 2018 and of the area,” said supervisors Chairwoman Barbara N. Lyons. “The main thing is keeping the history.”
