Doylestown Hospital ranked among best in region and state by U.S. News & World Report

Posted

Doylestown Hospital is ranked sixth in the Philadelphia Metro Area and 12th in Pennsylvania in the latest U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings.
The hospital also achieved “high performing” status for aortic valve surgery, back surgery, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, colon cancer surgery, heart attack, heart bypass surgery, heart failure, hip fracture, hip replacement, kidney failure, knee replacement, and stroke. High performing is the highest rating the U.S. News awards for those types of care.
“At Doylestown Health we relentlessly pursue excellence in quality care and patient safety,” said President and CEO Jim Brexler. “This is how we remain relevant and indispensable to our community, as we have for nearly 100 years. Achieving regional and national recognition is not our goal, but we humbly accept. Our focus is on what’s most important – the patients, family and community we serve.”

The annual best hospitals rankings and ratings, now in their 32nd year, are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or for common elective procedures.
For the 2021-22 rankings and ratings, U.S. News evaluated more than 4,750 medical centers nationwide in 17 procedures and conditions. Fewer than a third of all hospitals received any high performing rating, and only 11 earned this rating in all procedures and conditions. The state and metro area rankings recognize hospitals that received high performing ratings across multiple areas of care.
