Doylestown Health is sponsoring the Doylestown Bike Works professional cycling team, which will once again compete in the annual Bucks County Classic in September.

Doylestown Health continues to sponsor the Professional Women’s Race at the Bucks County Classic since its inception in 2014. This popular local event brings together the community to showcase active, healthy lifestyles for all ages.

“Doylestown Health is proud to be a part of the Bucks County Classic each year, and to sponsor the Doylestown Bike Works team,” said Doylestown Health President and CEO Jim Brexler. “This is a great community event that promotes physical fitness and healthy recreation, which aligns nicely with Doylestown Health’s mission to promote the health and well-being of all members of the community.”

The team’s official name is Bike Works p/b (Bike Works powered by) Fred Beans, which is a title sponsor. The mission of this elite-level cycling team is to promote healthy lifestyles in the local community through a bicycle race team structure that promotes diverse participation. The team will include a six-person men’s elite team, two elite women, and support for amateur men’s, women’s and junior’s racing. The team will compete in road racing, mountain biking and the discipline of cyclo-cross racing, which has become popular in the United States.

The annual Bucks County Classic includes a professional men’s race, professional women’s race, amateur and children’s events. It is scheduled for Sept. 11 in Doylestown.
