Doylestown Health; community leaders receive Rotary Club awards

Posted

Doylestown Health was among a group of community leaders the Rotary Club of Doylestown recently recognized with its annual Four-Way Test Awards May 25, at the Doylestown Country Club.

The Rotary Club chose Doylestown Health for contributions to the community in the health care category, recognizing the health system’s “hard work and creative approach to caring for our community” during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Rotary Four-Way Test asks: Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? And is it beneficial to all concerned? The four different categories for the annual awards include business, nonprofit, community service and health care.

Other award winners were Joseph Simek and Alexis Ridge Simek, founders of The Fiaria Project, which provides material aid to foster families during the transition of children to a foster home, who received the Not-for-Profit Award and Ron Strouse, former mayor of Doylestown, award for Community Volunteer.

Tom and Barb Hebel, owners of Bucks Country Gardens, received the Business Award.

Luke Dudeck, a student at Central Bucks West High School, won the Four Way Test Speech Contest and presented his speech.

According to Doylestown Health President and CEO Jim Brexler, who accepted the Health Care award, “We are truly honored the Rotary Club of Doylestown selected Doylestown Health for this award. The entire Doylestown Health team of associates, physicians and volunteers came together to bravely face this unknown foe and help us to see our way toward the other side.

“I want to also commend all the health care workers in our community, including those in the nursing homes, emergency first responders and caregivers in the home, clinicians and support staff alike who continued to meet the challenges of caring for our area residents during trying times.”

The Rotary Club recognized a list of seven community grant recipients who received a total of $35,120 at the Four-Way Test Awards Breakfast.
