Doylestown Borough is updating its comprehensive plan

Posted

It’s been 25 years since Doylestown Borough last updated its comprehensive plan, a critical document that guides everything from land use and transportation to housing opportunities and historic preservation for the community.

Over the next several weeks, the town’s some 8,000 residents can log into the borough’s website, doylestownborough.net, and offer their opinions on the future of Doylestown in a survey.

The plan, said Karyn Hyland, Doylestown’s director of building and zoning, “will focus on the quality-of-life issues that are most important to borough residents, reaching consensus on a direction forward and building local capacity to effect real change.”

Topics in the survey include parks and recreation, arts and cultural resources, economic vitality, sustainability and conservation, emergency services and more. There’s also a section to rate the quality-of-life in a number of categories, including transportation, housing, recreation and economic resources.

Residents are asked to read the questions carefully and respond thoughtfully and honestly. There’s also room to offer comments.

All responses are anonymous and must be completed by Nov. 8.
