Doylestown Borough honors Tom and Carole Logan for community service

Posted

For more than 50 years, Tom and Carole Logan have given back to their community in many ways.

On Monday, the couple were recognized by a Doylestown Borough Proclamation that asked the public to remember the intersection of Harvey Avenue and Doyle Street as “Logan’s Corner.”

It’s at that crossroads, where Tom Logan has operated Logan Auto Body since 1968, after returning from serving on the aircraft carrier, USS Saratoga.

From supporting countless Central Bucks student athletes and teams through the Doylestown Athletic Association to supporting local gymnasts, rugby teams, Irish dancers and local police and fire departments, the couple have built a legacy of caring for Doylestown Borough and its residents.

For more than 30 years, it was Tom Logan who delivered the borough’s Christmas tree for the annual tree lighting and arrival of Santa Claus in the center of town. And, when there was a snowstorm, it was Tom who used his tow-truck to pull vehicles out of ditches.

“Both Carole and Tom changed people’s lives through their humility and intervention,” said Doylestown’s Mayor Noni West during the ceremony at borough hall.
