Posted

The Bucks County Symphony Orchestra has announced the appointment of José Luis Domínguez as its fifth music director, succeeding Gary S. Fagin, who retired on April 30 after leading the BCSO for 20 years.

One of Chile’s most prominent conductors, Domínguez is conductor of the Temple University Symphony Orchestra and artistic director of the New Jersey Symphony Youth Orchestras. He serves on the adjunct conducting faculty and is artist-in-residence at Temple University’s Boyer College of Music.

Domínguez is a regular guest conductor with Opéra Théâtre Saint-Étienne in France and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. He previously held the position of music director of the National Youth Symphony Orchestra of Chile and is currently artistic director of the Musical Encounters International Music Festival in La Serena, Chile.

From 2003 until 2016, he was resident director with the Santiago Philharmonic Orchestra, one of the most prominent symphonic, ballet and opera orchestras in Latin America.

Domínguez resides with his wife, flutist Prema Kesselman, and daughter in Cherry Hill, N.J.
