Dock downs Faith for district titles

Top-seeded Dock Mennonite overcame a three-run deficit in the third inning and fended off a Faith Christian rally in the seventh to edge the No. 2 Lions, the two-time defending champions, 7-6 in the District One Class A softball title game Thursday at Souderton.

The Lions baseball team’s season also came to an end at the hands of the Pioneers. On the same day, No. 2 Faith fell to No 1. Dock Mennonite 5-3 in the district title game played at Boyertown.

Along with claiming district crowns, the Pioneers qualified for the PIAA baseball and softball tournaments, which kick off Monday.
