Discover natural bounty in foraging workshop at Bucks Audubon

Posted

Join Marissa with The Art of Ecology at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 5, as she guides visitors around the Bucks County Audubon Society to search for and identify local plants that can be used as ingredients in a variety of “delicious dishes.”
She will also instruct participants about the importance of foraging etiquette in maintaining wild plant populations.
After taking a foraging walk, participants will return to the center to wash and try their foraged goodies, as well as try a selection of pre-made, foraged foods such as tortillas and nasturtium salsa, dandelion cupcakes, sumac lemonade and iced tea, and more.
Each participant also will be able to learn how to create their own tea bags and tea blends using foraged material and can take home recipe and plant identification cards to be able to repeat these dishes at home.

Admission is $35 per person. A portion of the proceeds is donated back to Bucks Audubon and benefits its environmental education programming. Register at theartofecology.com/product/guided-foraging-walk/.
The workshop will be held at the Bucks Audubon nature preserve at 2877 Creamery Road, New Hope (Solebury Township).
