Del Val High School performs “Catch Me If You Can”

Delaware Valley High School’s production of “Catch Me If You Can” opens Friday, March 6.

“Not a moment in this show goes untouched by a little bit of dance,” said Heather Fleischman, choreographer for the production. “Everyone dances in this show.

“In some Broadway musicals, the leads get away without breaking a sweat and let the ensemble carry the movement story. Just wait until you see ‘Don’t Break the Rules!’ Our Hunter throws down some major moves to get the audience excited.”

That’s Hunter Trstensky, who plays the role of a dogged detective.

The dancing is always a prominent feature of Del Val musicals, but this year’s show promises to take dance to new heights as ranks of dancing nurses and flight attendants fill the stage.

“Catch Me” is the story of young Frank Abignale Jr. (played by Thai Branowski) who bluffs his way into jobs as teacher, airline pilot and doctor, making millions by forging checks. Meanwhile, he is hunted by Trstensky.

Senior citizens are invited to a free preview performance of “Catch Me If You Can” at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 5. It will be followed by 7 p.m. shows on two weekends – Friday, March 6; Saturday, March 7; Friday, March 13; and Saturday, March 14. There will also be a 2 p.m. show on March 7.

Admission costs $12. Reserve tickets by contacting, or hope they’ll be available at the door, at the high school in Frenchtown, N.J.
