Total cumulative COVID-19 cases in Pennsylvania at 2,823,133

Harrisburg - The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed that as of  May 2, there were 1,086 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide cumulative total cases to 2,823,133.

There were two new deaths identified by the Pennsylvania death registry and reported for a cumulative total of 44,679 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

There are 2,338,784 confirmed cases and 484,349 who have a positive viral antigen test and are considered probable cases.

The department continues to urge Pennsylvanians to follow CDC guidance for wearing a mask where required by law, rules, and regulations, including health care, local business and workplace guidance. For the protection of themselves and others, individuals who have not yet been vaccinated or are partially vaccinated, are still encouraged to wear a mask when in public.

Numbers by county as of May 2

  • Bucks County: 125,133 cases and 1,893 deaths
  • Chester County: 93,729 cases and 1,153 deaths
  • Delaware County: 112,020 cases and 1,873 deaths
  • Lehigh County: 90,603 cases and 1,239 deaths
  • Montgomery County: 155,823 cases and 2,322 deaths
  • Northampton County: 80,835 cases and 1,093 deaths
  • Philadelphia: 314,091 cases and 5,102 deaths

The Department of Health continues to provide the public with extensive and frequently updated data on both the COVID-19 dashboard and the vaccine dashboard. Both dashboards provide an interactive experience for the user to review statewide and local-level data updated daily.

The department will continue to provide data via online dashboards; however,  the dashboards will be updated on a weekly basis.
