Total cumulative COVID-19 cases in Pennsylvania at 2,787,687

Harrisburg - The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed that on April 8, there were 937 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide cumulative total cases to 2,787,687.
There was one new death identified by the Pennsylvania death registry and reported for a cumulative total of 44,404 deaths attributed to COVID-19.
There are 2,310,472 confirmed cases and 477,215 who have a positive viral antigen test and are considered probable cases. There are 6,167,276 individuals who have tested negative to date.
The department continues to urge Pennsylvanians to follow CDC guidance for wearing a mask where required by law, rules, and regulations, including health care, local business and workplace guidance. For the protection of themselves and others, individuals who have not yet been vaccinated or are partially vaccinated, are still encouraged to wear a mask when in public.

  • Bucks County: 123,222 cases and 1,882 deaths
  • Chester County: 91,820 cases and 1,142 deaths
  • Delaware County: 110,040 cases and 1,864 deaths
  • Lehigh County: 89,454 cases and 1,234 deaths
  • Montgomery County: 152,598 cases and 2,308 deaths
  • Northampton County: 79,555 cases and 1,086 deaths
  • Philadelphia: 309,120 cases and 5,079 deaths

The Department of Health continues to provide the public with extensive and frequently updated data on both the COVID-19 dashboard and the vaccine dashboard. Both dashboards provide an interactive experience for the user to review statewide and local-level data updated daily.

The department will continue to provide data via online dashboards; however, starting in late April, the dashboards will be updated on a weekly basis.
