County to collect garage parking fees in Doylestown

Fees to park in Bucks County’s two Doylestown Borough parking lots were set to begin April 1, but the COVID-19 pandemic delayed that until now. Beginning Monday, July 13, those using the garages will need to pay for parking.

The 1,000-space lot at Broad and Union streets, near the Justice Center, will cost $1 per hour, with a $5 maximum, Monday through Saturday, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. A flat rate of $10 is charged for overnight parking, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The new 153-space parking center at Court and Broad streets near the county’s administration building will cost .50 cents per hour, Monday through Saturday, from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. On Saturdays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., the cost is $1 per hour. All other hours are reserved for county use, officials said.

Parking in both garages is free on Sundays.

Doylestown Borough is resuming its normal parking enforcement, beginning July 13, as well, according to the town’s website. Spaces reserved for curbside pick-up will remain for the time being, as will additional spaces reserved for other restaurant and retail activity.
