Countryside Gallery shows artist’s plein air paintings

Posted

Countryside Gallery hosts “My True Colors” plein air painting here and in Europe, an exhibition by Bucks County native April Ann Bohmler.

The show at 2 South State St., Newtown, runs through Oct. 5.

Bohmler, who creates in her workshop home in Wrightstown, also spends her time exploring and “Journaling Life” through her art, a good amount of it in her home in Northern Spain.

Pastel is her medium of choice for working en plein air, selected for its rich color, texture and immediate results. She studied at Temple University and Tyler School of Art.

Bohmler’s sculpture “Leaf Down” was in the Phillips’ Mill 91st Juried Exhibition. Her paintings have shown in Philips’ Mill and Ellarslie Open juried exhibitions. Recently she was honored to receive first place at Willingboro Art Alliance Juried plein air competition and received an award at the Absecon Art Alliance plein air Paint-out.
