More than 100 Council Rock students enjoyed Camp Invention this past week and tapped into their inner inventor.
Run by Council Rock teacher Christine Marsden, the camp had record-breaking attendance in 2019. Working in cohort groups, campers experienced several different inventor activities. They prepared farms for planting, programmed a robot to hatch an egg, and joined the Innovation Force, a team of inventive superheroes on a mission to spread the word about protecting ideas with patents and trademarks.
Another daily activity saw campers learning all about underwater life before they constructed handmade sailing vessels and tested their ability to float. Finally, campers enjoyed remote-controlled DIY Orbots, turning them into colorful soccer players. Families and friends came out on June 28, the final day of Camp Invention 2019, to see and celebrate the various activities produced by this year’s inventors.
