The Council Rock Board of School Directors intends to formally name Dr. Andrew J. Sanko as the district’s next Superintendent of Schools and has scheduled a community forum during which the community can meet and hear from him.

Dr. Sanko is a 33-year employee of the Council Rock School District, beginning his career as a classroom teacher. He has served as a principal and currently holds the position of Council Rock’s Director of K-12 Education.   Dr. Sanko’s selection for appointment as Council Rock’s Superintendent follows a national executive search for qualified candidates facilitated by the Bucks County Intermediate Unit (Bucks IU).

Join the Council Rock School District (CRSD) for a Community Forum Thursday, May 26, at Council Rock High School North Auditorium, 62 Swamp Road, Newtown.

From 6:30 to 7 p.m. in the Auditorium Lobby, there will be a meet and greet with Dr. Sanko and light refreshments will be served. A program will follow at 7 p.m. in the auditorium

In a statement, Sanko said, in part, “It is an honor and privilege to be a part of the Council Rock community and work on behalf of our treasured students. My belief is that with a renewed commitment to trust, unity, and collaboration, Council Rock can continue to provide an unparalleled educational experience by keeping “Students First. Always.”

Ed Salamon, president of the Council Rock Board of School Directors said, in part, of Dr. Sanko’s selection, “We believe Dr. Sanko's experience, leadership and student-first approach will help the Council Rock community move forward together to meet the challenges ahead and build on the strength of our district's educational excellence. With Dr. Sanko's unparalleled commitment to our students, staff and community, the Board couldn't be prouder to announce his selection.

“On behalf of the Board, I offer heartfelt thanks to Dr. Susan Elliott for stepping up to lead as our Acting Superintendent for the last few months and wish her continued success as she moves on to the superintendency of a neighboring school district. With Dr. Sanko’s selection and Dr. Elliott’s departure, the Board and I will continue to keep the Council Rock community informed.”
