Corn, Tomato and Beer Festival returns to Flemington

Posted
The summer harvest meets the artisan district at Flemington, N.J.’s, Stangl Road, where the Corn, Tomato and Beer Festival celebrates sweet Jersey tomatoes, heirloom corn, local craft beer, live music and family activities from noon to 8 p.m. Aug. 10.

The event offers farm-to-table cuisine and New Jersey’s corn and tomato dishes as prepared by local restaurants and farmers, plus a beer garden featuring nine local, New Jersey craft breweries.

The festival includes live bands on multiple stages, children’s activities such as fire truck rides and face painting, and vegetable stands and artisan vendors on Stangl Road, which will be closed to car traffic.

Flemington restaurants are celebrating the local harvest and gearing up for the festival by featuring creative corn and tomato dishes on their menus all summer long. At the festival, restaurants and food stands will offer variations on dishes featuring corn and tomatoes, as well as the usual favorites.

Featured items include roasted corn, gazpacho, wood-fired pizza, corn salad, homemade empanadas, Mexican street corn, pulled pork, quesadillas, heirloom tomato salad, fresh salsas and gourmet kettle corn.

Family-style tables with large umbrellas provide a shady spot.

Festival admission and parking are free. Take Route 12 to the parking lot entrance near Liberty Village and enter Stangl Road on foot. The rain date for the event is Aug. 11. For information, visit loveflemington.com.
