Conrad C. Steinmann

Conrad C. “Connie” Steinmann, of East Rockhill Township, Pa., passed away Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, at his home. He was 95.
He was the loving husband of Sara C. (Doughty) Steinmann. The couple celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on Feb. 7, 2021.
Born in Philadelphia, Pa., he was the son of the late Samuel John and Ethel Isabelle (Luthgren) Steinmann.
A U. S. Army Veteran of World War II, Mr. Steinmann was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, and later in England, serving from 1944 to 1946. His occupational specialty was Radio Repairman, and he attained the rank of Technician Fifth Grade.
Following his honorable discharge from the Armed Forces, he completed his high school education at Brown Preparatory School, Philadelphia, and he attended Pennsylvania Military College (now Widener University), Chester, Pa., for a year.
Mr. Steinmann started his professional career with Globe Sprinkler, Philadelphia. After moving to Perkasie, he and his brother, John, started farming, raising chickens for eggs and growing produce including corn and tomatoes. They also did home delivery. Then, he worked as an insurance examiner for the Insurance Commission of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Later in his career from the 1970s, he became the founding principal and CEO of Continental Insurance Services, Perkasie, a firm conducting examinations of insurance company financial records nationwide. He continued insurance consulting until his retirement at the end of the 1990s.
He was a member of St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ, Perkasie.
Mr. Steinmann was an active member of the Hartzell-Crouthamel American Legion Post 280, Perkasie, volunteering every Memorial Day with the cemetery rifle squad and also participating in various community parades. A former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose 1539, Sellersville, Pa., he served as a Republican Committeeman for many years. He loved farming on his property. He especially enjoyed traveling with the family RV across the U.S. multiple times as well as taking trips to Europe. He was particularly fond of attending Penn State University home football games, having been season ticketholders for 25 years. He played the piano his entire life and loved music and dancing.
Surviving with his wife are two sons, Conrad Charles Steinmann Jr., of New York City, N.Y., and Jonathan Andrew Steinmann, of Canton, Conn.; and two granddaughters, Lilyen and Emmalyn Steinmann. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Henry and Samuel J. Steinmann Jr., and a sister, Barbara Mallory.
His funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022, at the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch St., Perkasie, where family and friends may call from 11 a.m. until noon. Face masks are appreciated. Interment will follow in St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ Cemetery, Perkasie.
