Congregations of Shaare Shamayim celebrate 60th Jubilee Anniversary

The Congregations of Shaare Shamayim, 9768 Verree Road, Philadelphia, hosts its annual Selichot evening Saturday, Sept. 17.

At 6:30 p.m., a light dinner will be served, followed at 7:45 p.m. by a showing of the movie, “Dough.” The Selichot service will begin at 10 p.m. RSVP to the office prior to Sept. 17.

The congregation’s annual Taslich Reception and Service will take place Monday, Sept. 26, beginning with a reception at 4:30 p.m. at the home of Marlene Markowitz and Randi Freeman, directly across Verree Road. The Taslich service will begin at 5 p.m. All are welcome.

The temple’s annual Break the Fast on Wednesday, Oct. 5, will immediately follow Yom Kippur services. The cost is $30 per person. RSVP to the office prior to Sept. 19. Mail your check payable to CSS at the address listed above.

Shaare Shamayim policy currently requires that those who enter the building to provide proof of vaccination or medical documentation if vaccination is not medically permitted, social distancing, and masking, except while eating. Those who have previously provided proof of vaccination, do not need to show it again. For information, call 215-677-1600.
