College students intern at Bucks nonprofits

Posted

Foundations Community Partnership recently celebrated the conclusion of their 2021 Summer Youth Corps (SYC). The program provides a 10-week service learning placement for students entering their second or third year in college.
Students are matched with nonprofit human service organizations for a paid internship with the opportunity to earn college credits via Bucks County Community College. SYC interns use both academic and social skills to address community needs and solve real-world problems.
Foundations Community Partnership canceled the program in 2020 due to COVID-19. Its 2021 interns worked with host agencies to ensure the program could continue this summer.

2021 Summer Youth Corps members included: Pranathi Burapuneni at the Bucks County Opportunity Council; Vraj Shah at Ridge Crest; Kellyann Reidy at The Council of Southeast Pa.; Christopher Abraham at the Bucks County Housing Group; Grace Soler at the Mercer Museum; Jordan Sabel at The Conservatory; and Sarah Stofik at the Cancer Support Community Greater Philadelphia.
Since 2008, 182 SYC interns have contributed 52,416 service hours at 40 Bucks County nonprofits. For more information about SYC, visit fcpartnership.org.
