The Mercer Museum’s major annual fundraiser Cocktails at the Castle returns to Doylestown, from 7 to 10:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, for an unforgettable night of culinary delights and craft cocktails.
An important fundraising component of Cocktails at the Castle is the online silent auction that features one-of-a-kind experiences and VIP packages, all to benefit the Mercer Museum’s exhibitions, education programs and community services.
Supporters can bid online now and during the gala. Tickets to the event are not required to bid.
This year’s Cocktails at the Castle silent auction has a wide selection of unique experiences and deluxe offerings, including a one-week stay at a luxury six-bedroom beachfront vacation home on Sanibel Island, Florida; a one-week vacation in Los Cabos, Mexico, a three-night stay at the Phillips Club II in the heart of New York City; an overnight stay at the Joseph Ambler Inn with a dinner for two at the inn’s award-winning restaurant; and a romantic getaway to Lumberville’s Black Bass Hotel with a stay in a room of your choice, a three-course dinner and a full breakfast.
Bidders can also enjoy experiences at the Mercer Museum & Fonthill Castle, like a private behind-the-scenes tour of the Mercer Museum’s Collection Storage & Study Center and four VIP tickets to the 2020 Fonthill Castle Beer Fest.
Sports fans will be enticed by the selection of sports memorabilia and experiences, including tickets to join Nova Nation and cheer on the Villanova basketball game at the Wells Fargo Center; memorabilia from Philadelphia Phillies Hall of Famers; and an official NFL autographed football signed by Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz. Nittany Lions fans won’t want to miss the opportunity to bid on a Tickets and Tailgate package for a 2020 Penn State football game.
Framed photos and works of art by Bucks County artists and photographers include works by Bud James, Christopher McCall, David Ohlerking, Fred Place, Ashley Rutherford and Mark Simon. George Nakashima Woodworkers also donated a Nakashima walnut serving board.
Bidders can also choose from rejuvenating packages and experiences, like a two-hour spa indulgence for two people at Essentials Spa; two relaxing sessions in the floating tanks at Doylestown’s Relax: Float Spa; a restoring package that includes professional skin, hand and massage services; and a custom haircut and color by Salon C’est Belle.
Other experiences include a Christmas experience in Cape May with a two-night stay in a Victorian seaside home; a Philadelphia cultural getaway that consists of two tickets to the Walnut Street Theatre and dining at Barra Rossa, tickets to a 2020 performance at the Bucks County Playhouse and an overnight stay at the Ghost Light Inn; a Stay and Play staycation at Peddlers’ Village, and tickets to the Newtown Historic Association’s 57th annual Open House Tour.
