Cocktails at the Castle offers delectable journey


The Mercer Museum’s major annual fundraiser, Cocktails at the Castle, returns to Doylestown from 7 to 10:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, for a night of culinary delights and craft cocktails.

Foodies and history lovers will join to celebrate this legendary evening in a one-of-a-kind castle. Cocktails at the Castle is known for its focus on crafted cocktails and offerings from some of the area’s most celebrated restaurants, caterers and bakeries, all in support of the Mercer Museum’s year-round exhibitions, youth education programs and community initiatives.

“We are so excited to welcome the community to another wonderful Cocktails at the Castle,” notes President and Executive Director Kyle McKoy. “With so many regional favorites returning to share their culinary creations, as well as new additions to the roster, all in an exceptional historic setting, we know it will be the best year yet.”

This year’s Cocktails at the Castle event features specialties from area favorites, including Ann’s Cake Pan, Chambers 19 Bistro & Bar, Clusters Handcrafted Popcorn, Corporate Source Catering & SophistiCatered Events, Edible Arrangements of Doylestown, Empanada Mama & Nourish by Mama, Jeffrey A. Miller Catering, Joseph Ambler Inn, Laurie’s Chocolates, Luberto’s Bakery & Deli, Simply Fresh by McCaffrey’s, Nina’s Waffles & Ice Cream, Penn Taproom, PA Soup and Seafood House, Piccolo Trattoria, Pierre’s Chocolates, Quinoa, Sand Castle Winery, Sweet Victory Gluten & Dairy Free Treats, Sweetah’s Gluten Free Bake Shop, Vela, Wegmans Food Markets – Warrington, Wycombe Vineyards and The Zen Den.

Event attendees can sample craft cocktails from Cocktail Partners at Brown-Forman, Barr Hill, Sagamore Spirit, Don Q, Kinsey Whiskey, St. George Spirits, Infinium Spirits, Joel Gott - Trincaro Wine Estates, and Fratelli Branca with assistance from the Breakthru Beverage Group Pennsylvania and Hops/Scotch 22.

They can also dance the night away with musical acts that set the festive mood, including a quartet from the Bucks County Symphony Orchestra playing the VIP Reception, the eclectic band The Gin Canaries playing swinging hits from the 1920s through 1940s, and Philadelphia-based party band Where’s Pete to keep the party hopping until the last note is played.

An important fundraising component of Cocktails at the Castle is the online silent auction that features one-of-a-kind experiences and VIP packages, all to benefit a great cause. Bidding for the silent auction is now live, and supporters can bid anytime online before and during the gala. Tickets to the event are not required to bid.

This year’s selection of unique auction experiences and deluxe offerings includes a seven-day beachfront vacation on Sanibel Island, a private behind-the-scenes tour of the Mercer Museum’s vast collections, a custom watercolor portrait of your home, a golf outing for three at Bucks County’s Lookaway Golf Club, a full detailing of your car at Four Seasons Car Wash, up-close Penn State Football tickets with a tailgate experience and so much more.

Cocktails at the Castle is black-tie optional and kicks off with a VIP reception beginning at 6:30 p.m. Doors open for all guests at 7 p.m. with tickets available at $250 VIP, $175 Gala Admission, $150 Members and $95 Mercer’s NextGen (21-30 years old).
