The June 15 tour will begin with a visit to Princeton University, whose original land was donated by Nathaniel Fitz Randolph. The Fitz Randolph Gate, dedicated in his honor, is the main entrance to the campus, leading to Nassau Hall which was built on the 4 1/2 acres originally donated by Fitz Randolph.

Then it’s on to Piscataway, N.J., for a tour of the East Jersey Olde Towne Village, an assembly of pre-Revolutionary War buildings including a 17th century Fitz Randolph homesite, and the historic Indian Queen Tavern where Benjamin Franklin and John Adams once shared a room.

Following a deluxe luncheon at The Barge, a perennially popular restaurant located on the Raritan Bay, the trip will continue with a special tour of the Proprietary House in Perth Amboy, once the home of Gov. William Franklin, Benjamin’s son. It is the only surviving Proprietary House in America and was recently featured in the PBS special, “Benjamin Franklin, A Film by Ken Burns.”

Tickets including all museum admissions, gratuities, snacks onboard the bus, and lunch are $135. Reserve now at newhopehistory.org. The tour will depart at 8:30 a.m. sharp from the McCaffrey’s parking lot on West Bridge Street in New Hope and return there at 5:30 p.m.
