The Episcopal Church of the Incarnation in Morrisville has called the Rev. John W. Conner of Newtown to serve as its new Deacon in Charge.
Conner grew up in Newtown and is a 2012 graduate of Council Rock High School North. He attended Penn State and graduated with a BA in English Literature in 2016.
Before he went to college, Conner worshiped at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Yardley with his family, and during his college years he was an active member of St. Andrews Church in State College and St. Clement’s Church in Philadelphia.
Conner attended Nashotah House Theological Seminary in Nashotah, Wisc., from 2018 to 2021, and graduated with a cum laude Master of Divinity (M.Div.) this spring.
The Church of the Incarnation will be Conner’s first post as a member of the ordained clergy. He will begin his ministry following his ordination as a transitional deacon on Sept. 18 at the Episcopal Cathedral in Philadelphia.
In the Episcopal Church, a period of service as a transitional deacon is the last step before being ordained as a priest.
