Chris Pinnella and 12-piece big band bring “Sinatra The Main Event” to winery

Chris Pinnella is on a mission. The vocalist who has shared the stage with Julie Andrews, landed a platinum record touring with the pro/rock locomotive Trans-Siberian Orchestra wants you to hear some of the greatest songs ever written the way they were intended to be heard.

On May 5, Pinnella, along with his 12-piece big band, will sit down at New Hope Winery for an evening that features one of Frank Sinatra’s most infamous concert performances live in its entirety. The concert, dubbed “The Main Event,” was broadcast live from Madison Square Garden in 1974 and featured a set list of heavy hitting Sinatra classics plus some surprises as well.

Staples include “The Lady Is A Tramp,” “I Get A Kick Out Of You,” “Autumn In New York,” “The House I Live In,” “My Way,” “You Are The Sunshine of My Life,” “Bad Bad Leroy Brown,” “My Kind of Town,” “Angel Eyes” and more.

The performance will also feature video footage from the evening, of Sinatra himself telling stories, cracking jokes, and setting up songs all for Pinnella and his band to segue into them live. Once the group is through “The Main Event,” the show doesn’t stop there; audiences will be treated to another set of classic Sinatra hits to keep them singing along.

“We’ve crafted this evening to be a true homage to Mr. Sinatra. I’m by no means an impersonator. This show honors his legacy while keeping the music alive. For me, the thrill of it all is hearing these charts played through by a full big band. It’s just magic,” said Pinnella.
