Chimayo Gallery in Perkasie presents a group show of new works featuring Gallery artists: “Love Me Embrace Me” will run from Feb. 12 to March 12.
Twelve gallery artists will be featured in the show: Bette Bream, Jacqueline Boulden, Kalli Haeflein, Steve Capaldi, Bill Hawkins, Anne Landis, Pat Slavek, Zoe Steckiel, Martha Stoler, B A Stoll, Jackie Cooper and Megan Wetzel. The pieces are inspired works that investigate the significance of the words “Love Me Embrace Me.”
For many visual artists, the stimulation of words can be charged. This display showcases the multifaceted expertise of these 12 as they delve into what those four words suggest for them. For instance, Jacqueline Boulden observes the world revolving in an ocean of felt. Bill Hawkins’ fierce purples and oranges rise up, resoundingly illustrating the words themselves.
Some of the artist’s will be in attendance on the opening day, with an opening reception from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 12.
